There was fine weather and a spring temperature of 17° for the 56 OK-Junior drivers on Vega tyres during their Qualifying Practice for the Winter Series by RGMMC in Franciacorta. The drivers entered the track between two and three minutes before the end of the session.
In Session 1, Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM) was in the lead on the second lap, ahead of Alfie Slater (LN/Vortex) and Thomas Strauven (LN/Vortex). On the third lap, Tye confirmed with the fastest time – 48”666 – 9 thousandths faster than Douwe Dedecker (KR/Iame). Maciej Gladysz (LN/Vortex) followed 28 thousandths behind Lucas Fluxa Cross (KR/Iame) and Kirill Kutskov (Birel ART/TM) in 5th at 76 thousandths. Slater finished 6th by 2 tenths, Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/TM) 7th, Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) 14th and Jules Caranta (KR/Iame) 22nd.
In the second session, Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM) quickly improved the best time on his second run with a good lead over his rivals. He secured pole position – 48”324 – on lap 4, 34 thousandths ahead of Enzo Tarnvanichkul (Tony Kart/Vortex). Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 3rd, a tenth behind, then Salim Hanna (LN/Vortex) 4th and René Lammers (Parolin/TM) 5th followed by Maxens Verbrugge (Exprit/TM). Arthur Dorison (Tony Kart/Vortex) finished 10th and Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) 17th
